A few days ago, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and Ministry of Emergency Management jointly issued the Notice on Recognizing National Young Safety Production Demonstration Posts of 2023 and Carrying out Annual Creation Activities of 2024. 2230 Galvanization Class D of the Cold Rolling Operation Department, Shougang Jingtang United Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., and Wire Rod Class B in the Steel Rolling Operation Area of the Shougang Tonggang Limited Company’s Steel Rolling Division were recognized as National Young Safety Production Demonstration Posts of 2023.

There are 17 members with young safety production demonstration posts in 2230 Galvanization Class D, 76% of whom are under 35 years old. In 2023, there were no production safety accidents or occupational diseases, the injury rate per million working hours was zero, the safety warning index was 2.28 and the identification rate of hidden dangers was 99.93%. In 2021, the collective was recognized as a Young Safety Production Demonstration Post in Beijing and rated as one of the top 100 innovative teams in the machinery, metallurgy and building materials industry in China. During the establishment period, it always adhered to the essential safety management model, vigorously promoted the brand concept of “youth participation, quality improvement of all staff and long-term success”, gave full play to the role of the Youth League organization and the brand “youth”, carried out the “everyone talks” activity and organized 32 sessions of special training on safety knowledge. It also held the “always studying and understanding your feelings” accident study session and shared 26 accident cases, held six safety drills and two knowledge contests, and promoted the integration, mutual improvement and common development of safety production and enterprise operation through safety somatosensory training.

The Young Safety Supervision Post of Wire Rod Class B in the Steel Rolling Operation Area of the Shougang Tonggang Limited Company’s Steel Rolling Division was established in September 2018. It currently has 15 regular employees, 60% of whom are under the age of 35. Wire Rod Class B implements “strong management” and adopts various forms to strictly, meticulously and solidly control the safety management of the team. For three consecutive years from 2020 to 2023, it realized the work goal of “zero safety accidents, zero equipment accidents and zero process accidents”, and it has successively won the “Entering the New Era and Building a New Shougang Tonggang Limited Company” Labor Competition and been named “Worker Pioneers”, “Red Flag Team”, winners of Jilin Province’s “Ankang Cup” Competition and other honorary titles.

The creation activity of National Young Safety Production Demonstration Posts is a public practical activity jointly organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and Ministry of Emergency Management for the purpose of ensuring safety production. According to the relevant statistics, a total of 486 collectives were named National Young Safety Production Demonstration Posts in 2023. Since its launch in 2001, more than 4,100 National Young Safety Production Demonstration Posts have been identified.
