On July 11, the National Curling Training Team was stationed in the Supporting Athletes Apartment of Shougang Beijing Park Winter Training Center, and received the ice training, symbolizing the start off their “Shougang life.”

It is reported that to fully prepare for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games, select excellent athletes of the national curling team for next stage, and lay a good foundation for the construction of the curling echelon and the training of reserve talents, China Curling Association held the curling selection training camp. After the first stage of land training, the second stage of ice and land training will be carried out in the National Winter Training Center of Shougang Park.

The athletes and coaches of the selection training camp from the team entered the supporting athletes’ apartment of the winter training center in Shougang Park. The newly built apartment is bright and tidy, the overall decoration style is simple and warm, and the facilities in the room are all available, giving the athletes the feeling of coming home.

Liu Meng, a Chinese coach at the selection training camp of national curling training team, said that when he first came to Shougang, he saw that Shougang’s curling facilities and accommodation conditions were excellent, providing a very good training environment for coaches and athletes, enabling the athletes to have the enthusiasm and the passion to concentrate on the training.

Daniel, a foreign trainer at the selection training camp of national curling training team, said: “We are very satisfied with the training facilities and apartments provided by Shougang, and we will use these facilities to train our curling professionals to help them achieve good results.”

As a male athlete of the selection training camp of national curling training team in Shougang, Ba Dexin and Zang Jialiang said they had been long expecting to enter Shougang Park since they heard very early that they were going to enter Shougang Park for training, and started to look forward to the training conditions and environment here. They learned about the information and videos on the Internet. After coming to the scene, they felt that this was the most professional place in the country. “We are looking forward to ice training at Shougang and will certainly get our best.”

Women athletes Mei Jie and Liu Sijia are deeply impressed by the protection and utilization of the industrial remains of Shougang. They said it was the first time they came to Shougang, and they broadened their outlook by viewing a lot of the buildings with features on the way. “It is a new beginning and starting point. We will develop the national curling industry through collective efforts, and we look forward to the life here every day.”
